Mario Garcia is running for Circuit Court Judge (11th Judicial Circuit of Florida) in Group 038, fill in the circle # 310, in Miami Dade County. The non-partisan, county wide election is on August 26, 2008. This is an open-seat and Mario was the first to file his candidacy on February 7, 2007.

I have served as a former Assistant State Attorney, Miami-Dade County for three years, and have built a small firm which has grown from a solo practice with a headquarters in Miami and a second office in Orlando, Florida. As owner and managing attorney I have had the opportunity to mentor two attorneys, a team of twelve staff, in addition to tackling logistical, human resource issues associated with a small firm, in addition to managing my own caseload in criminal defense, real estate, immigration and family law. This experience will easily translate to the courtroom where the Circuit Judge works closely with his courtroom staff in addition to effectively managing his time and caseload. As a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law I would be honored to serve this community as a Circuit Judge.

I am a U.S. Army Captain (Retired) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, State of Florida #MH8740, and Certified Addictions Prevention Professional, Florida Certification Board #202G. During my tenure in the U.S. Army, as a Company Commander, I was responsible for the safety, health and welfare of 105 men and women soldiers, and their families. Each and every day I made decisions that would somehow impact their lives. As a Judge, those who will appear before me must know that, when elected, I will take this responsibility with the knowledge and experience that each and every decision made will effect those who appear before me. Please know that each and every decision will be thoughtful and you will be treated with the fairness, and the respect and dignity that each and every member of this community deserves.

My experience as an attorney and counselor at law, coupled with my service to this Nation, Miami Dade County and my community, creates a balance which makes me an exceptionally qualified candidate for circuit court judge.
